Facilities

Q: Are there barbeque/braai facilities?
A: 
Yes, some of the braai/barbeque facilities are enclosed while others are outdoors. Please check the facilities of the house/unit you will be booking by clicking on the name of the house/unit on our website.
 

Q: What do we need to bring along?
A:
Bedding and linen is supplied. Please bring bath- and swimming towels, toilet paper, dish towels and dish washing liquid. DSTV is  available with 50 channels ( Not Full DSTV ). Overnighters do not need to bring these items along.

Q: How far is the house/unit from the main beach in Struisbaai?
A: This depends on the house/unit booked, but all our accommodation is within 2–5 minutes walk to the main beach and harbour, except Seagulls Seasong which is a 10 minute walk away from the main beach.

Q: How far is Struisbaai from the Southernmost Tip of Africa?
A: From the CBD in Struisbaai it is 7km away.

Q: Do you have accommodation suitable for disabled guests?
A: Unfortunately we do not have wheelchair facilities.

Q: Are pets allowed in the Green’s holiday house/unit? 
A: Unfortunately we are not pet-friendly.

Q: Do the Green’s holiday house/unit provide private parking space? 
A: Yes, parking is available on the premises.

Q: Are there cleaning services?
A: The house/unit is cleaned before arrival and after departure. The house/unit is not serviced during the guest’s stay but could be arranged. A fee for unwashed dishes upon departure will be charged.

Q: Will I need to pay for breakages?
A: Please report any breakages/damages to the agent. The client is responsible for the payment thereof.


Booking Process

Q: Check in time
A: 
Check in time during peak season (December/January and Easter) is from 16:00. Check in time during off peak season is from 14:00.
 
Q: Check out time
A: Check out time during peak season is 10:00.Check out time during off peak season is 10:00. Later Check out times may be arranged on Sundays and Public Holidays (16:00) should bookings allow.
 
Q: What if I am a frequent guest of Green’s Accommodation?
A: 
Please contact us to enquire about any specials.

 

Q: What method of payment is acceptable for booking with Green’s Accommodation?
A: Payment to be paid into our bank account via EFT (Internet Banking) or direct deposits before arrival. Impromptu overnight guests to pay upon arrival.

Q: When will I receive a response?
A: If your enquiry is by e-mail, you will receive a response by email within 24 hours on weekdays and weekends. <span “>Telephone enquiries will receive a response when received.

Q: When will I receive my booking confirmation?
A: Booking is confirmed upon receipt of a signed booking form and proof of payment.

Q: Are you open on Public Holidays?
A: Yes (Except for 24,25,26,December ans 1,2 January.)

Q: What is Green’s Accommodation’s booking hours?
A: You can call our landline number from 8am until 5pm Mondays to Fridays but for after hours enquiries please call the cell phone number 082 446 4888.

Q: Can I book any day of the week?
A: Yes


Payment

Q: Is the accommodation price “per person” or “per room”?
A: During off-peak season
accommodation price is per person; however certain house/unit have a minimum booking tariff, example minimum 4 persons.
 
For maximum number per unit bookings during peak period and during off peak season for the first two persons a set tariff and there after per person.

Q: Deposit payments
A: The deposit is payable on the date stipulated on the booking form. The balance is payable before arrival.

Note: If a booking is made through a booking or travel agency, the deposit policy of that particular agency may apply.

Changes to your reservation

Q: How do I make changes to my reservation?
A: 
Changes to your reservation are to be done in advance by contacting our offices via email or telephone. Changes are subject to availability and tariff changes may apply.
 

Q: Does it cost to add or make any changes to my holiday booking?
A: Green’s Accommodation does not charge for making changes, excluding cancellations, however booking agencies may charge a fee.


Cancelling your holiday

Q: I need to cancel my holiday, what do I need to do?
A: 
Cancellations can only be accepted in writing by letter, fax or email. In the case of a cancellation a fee will be charged. Note if a booking is made through a booking / travel agency, the cancellation policy of that particular agency may apply.

Q: I have to cancel my holiday due to a medical condition. Will I lose the money I have paid for my holiday so far?
A: Upon proof provided, the holiday date can be postponed to a later period. The cancellation policy of Green’s Accommodation may apply.

Note: If a booking was made with a travel or booking agency, the cancellation policy of that particular agency might apply.


Travelling with Children

Q: Is there a special price for children?
A: 
We have a fixed rate per person 2 year and older.


Whilst On Holiday

Q: In case of an emergency, who must I call?
A: 
For all accommodation related emergencies please call the agent.  A list of emergency numbers to call for non-accommodation related emergencies is available on the fridge.
 
Q: Can I rent a car? 
A: 
Car rentals are available at the Cape Town International Airport or contact us for the names of companies.

 

Q: Do the Green’s holiday house/unit offer the possibility of a late check-out? 
A: During peak season December / January school holidays 10:00. All other times on a Sunday 16h00 if it is not peak season and if bookings allow.

Q: How do I make a compliment / complaint?
A: A compliment or official complaint can be lodged on our website under ‘Contact us’.  Alternatively, feedback can be given telephonically or via email.


General FAQ’s

Q: When is the best time to visit South Africa?
A: 
Warmer weather is from September to April and colder climate is from May to August. Summers tend to be quite hot, with daytime temperatures hovering around 30ºC (86ºF). For beach holidays and bird watching, summer tends to be the preferred time to visit.  
 
The Cape Floral Kingdom (Fynbos) is the best to view in August month.

 

Q: Where can I change currency?
A: You will be required to declare all foreign currency in any form when entering/exiting South Africa and therefore we advise that you only change money as required. Most international airports have banks where money can be changed and facilities are usually available at reputable hotels and lodges. The unit of currency is the rand, which is divided into 100 cents.
